Lame-O side aches.

1/27/11 - Day three : 3 miles in 35 minutes Scheduled: 3

Facts of my stupid side aches:

*They seem to lighten up when I slow down
* Sometimes they go away when I take an acid reducer before I run; sometimes they don't.
* I am almost always on the verge of one, if I don't already have one.
* When I press into the area, it doesn't seem as severe of pain.
* It is always on the right side about halfway down, just medial to my ribcage.
*Dairy seems to flare it up
* I ate pizza today and yesterday and had bad aches.. I had tons of crappy food last Friday night before my 7 mile run the next morning and I was absolutely FINE.
* They are worse when I eat really close to running

It could be a number of things. I read an article while researching once that said this lady won the olympics twice as a runner and she has always had a perma-side ache while she runs. Nobody could figure it out so she just was in constant pain but ignored it because she loves to run.

I'm worried I am the non-olympian version of that woman. :( The other difference is that when I keep running at a faster pace (since my lungs and cardio are JUST FINE and could go on forever!), the pain intensifies. I am being forced to stay at a fat-man-shuffle pace. Gah!

I wish I could just get it figured out. I guess I'll set up that appointment at BYU health center next week to get an ultrasound of my intestines to make sure that is all running properly. In my heart, I don't feel that is what is wrong. But I can't figure it out. Lame-O.
